• Perforated eardrum in last 3 months

• Grommets

• Recent ear surgery

• Auricular cysts

• Acute mastoiditis

• Inner ear bone problems

• Acute infection

• First 3 months of pregnancy

• Cochlear implants or hearing aids

• Excessive recent dental work
